Bread Uttapam is a unique recipe which looks like a sandwich yet tastes delicious (somewhat like uttapam but with a crispy base) and is great for breakfast or evening snacks. This Bread Uttapam Recipe is quite heavy and fills your stomach for quite sometime. It is quite quick and easy to make as well and can be given as tiffin for kids. Serve this sprinkled with black salt or chaat masala along with ketchup/chutney.

Ingredients to prepare Bread Uttapam


  • 1/2 cup Sooji
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1 medium size chopped tomato
  • 1 medium size chopped capsicum
  • 2 chopped green chili
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • 6 bread slices
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How to make Bread Uttapam


Step 1

In a bowl put 1/2 cup sooji, 1/2 cup curd mix them well.

Step 2

Now put 1 medium size chopped onion, 1 medium size chopped tomato, 1 medium size chopped capsicum, 2 chopped green chili, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and salt to taste and mix well.

Step 3

Take a tawa put 6 bread slices and toast the bread slices with 1 tablespoon of butter.

Step 4

Now spread the mixture over the bread slices and turn the bread slices and toast till it become little golden brown in colour.

Step 5

Bread uttapam is ready to serve hot with chuttney in breakfast.
