Aloo ki sabji with kasuri methi is an ideal indian recipe with kachuri as morning/evening snacks. The taste completely matches (even better) than the ones available outside. The Aloo ki sabji with kasuri methi recipe is a great home made side dish which has another plus point – it’s completely veg (no onion or no garlic) making it ideal and best during pujas. Even without pujas this is a great dish to savour with kachuris, parathas or puris. Try it and you will not be dissapointed.

Ingredients to make Aloo ki sabji with kasuri methi


  • 3 medium size potato
  • 1 medium size tomato
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 green chili
  • 2 tablespoon kasuri methi
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • vegetable oil
  • whole kala jeera
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • green peas

How to prepare Aloo ki sabji with kasuri methi


Step 1

Take 3 medium size potato and peel them off, cut them into square pieces and wash them properly.

Step 2

Take a non stick frying pan heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil and put few kala jeera as a phoran.

Step 3

When its starts splutter, put potato pieces and fry with little salt and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. till it becomes little golden brown in colour.

Step 4

In a mixer grinder put 1 tomato cut into big pieces, 2 green chili, 1 inch ginger and grind them all in a smooth paste.

Step 5

Now put the paste in a frying pan, where potato is half fried and cook for 5 mins or till oil separate from potato.

Step 6

Now add 1/2 cup of water and 2 tablespoon of kasuri methi. Cook for 5 mins till the gravy is little thicker in consistency.

Step 7

Aloo ki sabji is ready to serve hot with kachuri or paratha. You can add green peas, while frying the potato.
