Sweet Vermicelli is known with different names in different regions of India. It is basically a sweet dish prepared by putting vermicelli into boiling milk. Bengalis call it Semui. It is also known as Sewai or Semai in some areas. As you have guessed this is a sweet dessert item ideal for finishing a lavish dinner. It is also famous side item with Daal Puri.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vermicelli broken into 2-3 inch thin sticks
- 2 cups of milk
- Cashew nuts
- Rasin
- 1 cardamom

Steps
1. In a kadhai heat 1 tablespoon of ghee and put 1/2 cup vermicelli into it and fry in medium flame till it become golden brown and keep stiring and keep aside.
2. In the same kadhai put 2 cups of milk and bring it to boil for 5mins, then put the vermicelli into the kadhai and cook till the vermicelli becomes tender.
3. Put few Cashew nuts, Rasin and 1 cardamom (broken into half) into the kadhai (step 2) and stir occasionally.
Sweet Vermicelli is ready to serve as a dessert (mainly a dinner item).
