Piyaz ka pakora (Onion pakora) with cabbage is a nice tea/coffee time snacks and perfect for guests. This is also tastes good with simple lunch like rice and daal with one sabji. It just spices things up a bit so that you and your family is not bored eating same type for preparation. Try this pakoda style preparation and eat these while hot!


Ingredients

  • 1 big size onion
  • Cabbage (quantity of cut cabbage should be half of cut onion)
  • 3-4 tablespoon of besan (gram flour)
  • Black salt powder
  • 4-5 chopped green chili
  • Few chopped coriander leaves
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt

Cooking time : 15 mins
Preparation time : 10 mins
Serves: 2

Steps

1. Take 1 big size onion and cut it into thin long pieces, then cut the cabbage into thin long pieces as onion (quantity of cut cabbage should be half of cut onion).

2. In a bowl put cutted cabbage and onion (step 1) and 4-5 chopped green chili and few chopped coriander leaves. Put 3-4 tablespoon of besan (gram flour) into the bowl and add little water, mix it well and keep the mixture for 15 mins.

3. In a non stick pan heat 1 cup of vegetable oil, then with spoon put the mixture into the oil and deep fry till it become golden brown.

Garnish with black salt powder.

Note: Piyaz ka pakora with cabbage as ingredient makes the pakora more crispy. Serve these while hot and soak them in tissue paper to get rid of extra oil.

Piyaz ka pakora is ready to serve hot with coriander chutney or tomato sauce for evening snacks.
