Paneer Pakora is a fried dish which is also a specialty for veg lovers. It includes paneer and potato and is an excellent snack to serve with tea or coffee in the evening. There’s another type of preparation where potato is not used, but that preparation needs lot of paneer and also tastes “pure” paneer only. I like the potato version as it gives a more uniform taste of paneer mixed with potato. So here’s the Paneer Pakora Recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes
  • 100gm paneer
  • 2-3 green chili
  • fried peanut
  • black pepper
  • 4-5 teaspoons all purpose flour
  • Vegetable Oil
  • salt

Cooking Time: 15 mins
Preparation time: 10 mins
Serves: 3

How to prepare Paneer Pakora

1. Take 2 potatoes and grate them, then boil the potatoes for 5 mins.

2. Take 100gm paneer and cut it into small pieces.

3. In a bowl put potatoes (step 1), paneer (step 2), 2-3 green chili, fried peanuts, black pepper, salt to taste and mix well.

4. Press the mixture to create spherical shaped balls and keep aside

5. Take a bowl put 4-5 teaspoons all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt add little water into it and make a not so thick batter.

6. In a Non stick Frying pan heat 1 cup vegetable oil then dip the balls(steps 4) into the batter(step5) and fry till it becomes golden brown.

Paneer Pakora(with Potato) is ready to serve hot with Coriander Chuttney or Tomato sauce.

  1. [...] the other needs more preparation. So if you can like fry and quick version, go for a bit of shahi Paneer Pakora if you (or your family) are great fan of Paneer. This dish is 100% Puja safe – has no onions [...]

  2. Are peanuts typically in this dish? And are they typically in paneer? I’m traveling to India soon and I’m really worried about the fact that I’m allergic to peanuts.
Any tips on what I should avoid? Or how I can tell people that I can’t eat peanuts?

    Thanks so much!

    • Hi Nadia,

Peanuts are completely optional. But they are generally common in a typical “pakora” recipes though… if you are allergic to peanuts, it is best to confirm before taking any type of pakora items.
