Mooli Ka Paratha is a great alternative to standard plain paratha. This item is itself quite heavy and can be served with just coriander chutney, pickles or even tomato ketchup (maggi hot and sweet is the best option). This dish is quite delicious and is perfect choice when there’s not much inventory left in your kitchen for full fledged side dishes. The Mooli Ka Paratha Recipe does take a bit of time as you have to prepare at least 2 per person and each of them will take some time to get fully cooked. But the result is really good and the Mooli ka paratha will be thoroughly enjoyed by everyone when prepared once in while.

Ingredients

  • 1 mooli
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
  • Pinch of ajwain ( carom seeds)
  • salt to taste
  • Few chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 chopped green chili
  • 2 cup of atta ( wheat flour)
  • vegetable oil

Preparation Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 25 min

How to make Mooli Ka Paratha

1. Take 1 mooli and at first peel it and then grate them into small pieces into a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida (Hing), pinch of ajwain (carom seeds), salt to taste, few chopped fresh coriander leaves, 2 chopped green chili and mix well.

2. In another bowl put 2 cup of atta (wheat flour), 2 teaspoon of vegetable oil and mix well. Add little by little water and make a soft dough.

3. Put the stuffing (step 1) at the center of the dough and close the ends tightly, roll it like chappati (Roti).

4. Take a tawa (flat frying pan with no edges), heat it for 2 mins then put the paratha over the tawa, when one side of paratha turns brown turn it on other side. Put 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil on the sides of paratha and fry till it become little brown. Make all the paratha in the same way one by one.
