Matar Paneer (Green Peas and Cheese Curry) is a very common dish even in any occasion and at home. Matar Paneer is sometimes very popular in vegetarian community as the preparation is spicy and different than normal vegetable due to the presence of paneer (cheese cubes). Matar Paneer looks colorful too with green peas.
Ingredients of preparing Matar Paneer
- 200gm paneer
- 2 large size chopped onion
- 2-3 green chili (cut into 2 half)
- 1 inch grated ginger
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 2 tablespoon of ghee
- Salt
Cooking time: 30 mins
Preparation time: 5 mins
Serve : 4
How to prepare Matar Paneer
1. Take 200gm paneer and cut them in medium pieces.
2. In a non- stick kadhai heat 2 tablespoon of ghee and fry the paneer till it become golden brown and keep aside.
3. In the same kadhai (step 2) put 2 large size chopped onion, 2-3 green chili (cut into 2 half) and 1 inch grated ginger and Saute till it become little brown. Add 1/2 cup green peas, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, salt to taste and little water, cook till the peas are tender and little gravy remains.
4. Put the fried the panner into the gravy (step 3) and 1 teaspoon garam masala powder with little water and bring it to boil for 5 mins.
Matar Paneer is ready to serve hot with paratha, puri or Roti (Chapati) for dinner and with pulao for lunch.
