Lauki ki sabji with chana dalLauki (Lau/kaddu) ki sabji with chana dal is a very simple recipe for a everyday dish. This is a very healthy side dish ideal with rice and dal. Of course this can also be served with roti. The ingredient list is small and the Lauki (Lau/kaddu) ki sabji with chana dal recipe is great vegetarian item with which you can start a meal that has other spicy/rich items in queue. This is also good as a break between spicy meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 small size lauki (Lau/kaddu)
  • 3 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • Pinch of panch phoran
  • Hanfull of chana dal
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 green chili

Preparation Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 25 min
Serves: 4

How to make Lauki (Lau/kaddu) ki sabji with chana dal

1. Take 1 small size lauki (Lau/kaddu), peel it off and cut it into small size pieces.

2. Take a non-stick frying pan, heat 3 tablespoon of vegetable oil put pinch of panch phoran and handful of chana dal (wash it properly ahead of time), fry for 3-4 mins.

3. Now put the lauki pieces (step 1) into the pan with salt to taste and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder and 2 green chili slightly splitted. Close the lid of the pan and cook till lauki is fully tender.

Lauki (Lau/kaddu) ki sabji with chana dal is ready to serve hot with Rice.
