Fish Finger is a typical fast food item and an appetizer dish that is loved by most non-veg fans. This crispy fried item tastes delicious and is quite easy to eat because of it’s cylinder shape. You can eat a lot without realizing the total count. The preparation of Fish Finger Recipe is not that difficult though. It just involves preparation of batter (right consistency), some wait time for marinade and finally deep frying. But the effort is worth the taste. This great evening snacks recipe will be definitely appreciated and enjoyed by all.


Ingredients

  • 200 gm of any boneless fish (e.g. Bhetki in India, Tilapia in USA)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder,
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger & garlic paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour
  • 1 beated egg
  • 1/2 cup of gram flour ( besan)
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • little salt
  • 1.5 cups of vegetable oil
  • thin sliced pieces of onion
  • chopped coriander leaves
  • salt, black peeper
  • few drops of lime juice.

Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 20 min
Serves: 3

How to make Fish Finger

1. Take 200 gm of any boneless fish and cut it into long pieces shape and thickness must be like a finger. Wash it properly there must be 10 -12 pieces.

2. Take a bowl put the fish pieces and marinade with 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, pinch of turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder, 1/4 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon of ginger & garlic paste, 1/4 teaspoon of coriander powder, salt to taste,  1 teaspoon of lime juice, 1 teaspoon of corn flour and 1 beated egg mix well. Put the marinaded fish pieces in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

3. In a plate put 1/2 cup of gramflour (besan), 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs and little salt mix well and keep aside.

4. Roll all the marinaded fish fingers properly in all sides into the mixture (step 3) and keep aside.


5. Take a non-stick frying pan heat 1.5 cups of vegetable oil and put 5-6 fish fingers (step 4) at a time and fry in medium flame till fish fingers become golden brown in color and the fish is fully cooked.


Garnish with thin sliced pieces of onion sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves, salt, black peeper and few drops of lime juice.

Fish Finger is ready to serve hot with tomato sauce and thin sliced pieces of onion (prepared as above) for evening snacks.
