Egg Devil is actually a tasty fried egg stuffed with a vegetable mixture. Nothing devilish about it. It got it’s name from the seasoning process followed way back in 1870′s (the actual recipe is still a secret due to patent!). Anyways, this recipe is not a secret and actually easier than you think. It does take some in preparing the stuffing and frying process. The outcome of course with saying, is quite delicious for any party snacks.

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 grated carrot
  • 1/2 grated beet
  • 2-3 green chili
  • Few coriander leaves
  • 2 inch grated ginger
  • 2 clove of garlic
  • Handful of raw peanuts
  • Hing (Asafoetida)
  • 5 teaspoon cornflour
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil
  • salt

2. In a bowl put 1/2 grated carrot, 1/2 grated beet, 2-3 green chili, few coriander leaves, mash potato (step 1), 2 inch grated ginger , 2 clove of garlic and mix well.

3. In a non stick frying pan put 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil and heat the oil for 2 mins in a medium heat. Put handful of raw peanuts into frying pan and fry until it becomes golden brown and keep aside.

6. In a bowl put 5 teaspoon cornflour add water and make a not so thick batter, then in a bowl break 1 egg and beat it properly and in a plate put 1 cup of breadcrumbs and keep aside.

7. Make the mixed stuffing (step 4) into round shapes balls, (prepare 4 balls) and put the balls into the egg white and keep aside.

8. Dip each ball into the cornflour (step 6) and then in beated egg (step 6) and roll it with breadcrumbs.
