Ingredients
- 1 cup chana dal
- 2 teaspoon whole cumin seeds
- 2-3 dry red chili
- 2 glass of water
- 1 Cup Atta
- Few teaspoons of vegetable oil
For chutney
- 1 green chili
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon tamarind
- 1 inch of ginger
- salt to taste
- 1/4 small tomato
- few drops of mustard oil

How to make Dal Puri
1. Take 1 cup chana dal wash it properly and in a pressure cooker, add the dal with 2 glass of water, little salt and turmeric powder, close the lid of the pressure cooker and wait for 3 whistles. Chana dal should be 3/4 boil, drain the excess water from dal and keep aside.
2. Take a small frying pan and roast 2 teaspoon whole cumin seeds and 2-3 dry red chili for 2-3 mins in medium flame. Keep stiring all the time.
3. In a mixer grinder put the cumin seeds and red chili (step 2), grind till it become smooth powder.
4. Now in the mixer grinder put the chana dal with little water and make a smooth paste. Do not add more water, paste must be on a dry side.
5. Take a bowl put the chana dal paste and roasted powder (step 3) and salt to taste and mix well. Stuffing is ready for the dal puri.
6. In another bowl add 1 cup atta and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil, add little by little water into it and make a soft dough, make small size balls with the dough.
7. Put the filling (step 5) at the center of the dough and close the ends tightly, roll it like chappati (Roti).
8. Take a tawa heat it for 2 mins then put the puri over the tawa, when one side of puri turns brown, turn it on other side. Put 1 teaspoon vegetable oil on the sides of puri and fry till it become little brown.
To make the chutney for Dal Puri as a side dish
In a mixer grinder put 1 green chili, 1 clove of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon tamarind, 1 inch of ginger, salt to taste, 1/4 small tomato, few drops of mustard oil, and little water grind all and make a the chutney.
Dal Puri is ready to serve hot with Aloo ki sabji and Chutney (as above) for dinner/lunch.
