Besan Ka Halwa is a mild sweet dish and very popular among the “halwa” lovers. This is as popular as it’s “sooji-only” version of halwa. This preparation is of course mildly sweet and does use a little “sooji” as well. It can be made drier (i.e. loose grains) or slightly like a paste per individual taste and likings. Nevertheless this item can be served any time when you need something heavier and stomach filling than normal snacks. The Besan Ka Halwa Recipe can be really great for dessert as well.

  • 2 tablespoon of ghee
  • 1/2 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1/4 cup sooji
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1.5 cup water
  • 1 green cardamom seeds

Cooking Time: 15 min
Serves: 2

How to make Besan Ka Halwa

1. In a non- stick frying pan heat 2 tablespoon of ghee, then put put 1/2 cup besan (gram flour) and 1/4 cup sooji and fry in low flame till the besan is fully cooked or besan become light brown in color.

2. Put 1/2 cup of sugar and stir for 1 mins, then put 1.5 cup water and stir continuously till the halwa absorbers water (this is where you have to decide how much coarse or paste you want the halwa to be.

3. Lastly  put seeds from 1 green cardamom and mix well.

Besan Ka Halwa is ready to serve hot as a dessert or snacks item with bread/roti.
