Aloo (Potato) ka paratha is a north indian alternative to richer chapatti (filled with potato). This is a heavier (and thicker) version of the normal roti and is great with tea or chutney for dinner. Normally no side dish is necessary with this dish.
Ingredients
- 2 medium size potatoes
- 2-3 green chili
- 2 clove of garlic
- 1 Cup Atta
- Vegetable oil
- Salt

Steps
1. Boil 2 medium size potatoes in a micro-oven with 1 cup of water for 8 mins, then remove its skin and mash the potato and keep aside.
2. In the mixer grinder put 2-3 green chili, 2 clove of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt and blend the mixer. There is no need to add water.
3. In a bowl put mash potatoes (Step 1), blended paste (step 2) and salt to taste if requried and mix well.
4. In another bowl put 1 Cup Atta and add little by little water into it and make a soft dough, with dough make small size balls.
5. Put the filling (step 3) at the centre of the dough and close the ends tightly, roll it like chappati (Roti) .
6. Take a tawa heat it for 2 mins then put the paratha over the tawa, when one side of paratha turns brown turn it on other side. Put 1 teaspoon vegetable oil on the sides of paratha and fry till it become little brown.
Aloo (Potato) paratha is ready to serve hot with coriander chutney for dinner.
