Aloo phool gobi (Potato cauliflower) is a simple everyday vegetable dish that can bring variety to your dinner table. It is easy to prepare and tasty as well.
Ingredients
- 1 Potato
- 7-8 pieces of cauliflower
- whole cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaves
- 1 dry red chili
- 2-3 green chili
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
- 2 teaspoon tomato puree
- Vegetable oil
- Salt
Preparation time : 10 mins
Cooking time: 30 mins
Serves: 2
Steps
1. Cut 1 Potato and 7-8 pieces of cauliflower into medium size pieces and wash them in running water.
2. In a non-stick frying pan heat 5-6 teaspoon vegetable oil and fry potato and cauliflower till it becomes golden brown and keep aside.
3. In the remaning vegetable oil add pinch of whole cumin seeds, 1 bay leaves, 1 dry red chili and fry for 1 min.
4. Add 1 chopped onion and fry till it is half tender, then add 2-3 green chili, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste and salt to taste and little water fry till oil comes out of the masala.
5. Put 2 teaspoon tomato puree and mix well, then put potato, cauliflower and 1/2 cup water and bring to boil for 5 mins.
Aloo Phool Gobi ki sabzi is ready to serve hot with Paratha, Puri or Roti (Chappati).
