Aloo Kabli (Churmur) is another great fast food item that goes side by side with Gol Gappa / Phuchka / Pani Puri. This is actually a crushed mixture of potato and gol gappa, added with red chili and other spices. Again this tastes awesome and does not mean that you will always have to eat it outside. You can make it at home (of course with quite an effort) which will be even tastier and healthier (specially for kids). So on to the Aloo Kabli / Churmur recipe.

Ingredients

  • 12-15 not puffed phuchkas (see here for the instructions to prepare them)
  • 1/4 cup lal (red) chana
  • 1 medium size potato
  • 1/2 teaspoon chat masala
  • 2-3 chopped green chili
  • Few chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (upto taste)
  • salt to taste
  • two teaspoon tamarind water

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Serves : 2

How to make Aloo Kabli (Churmur)

1. For aloo kabli use 12-15 phuchka (see here for the instructions to prepare them) which are not puffed, break them each in four pieces (do not crush them too much) and put it in a bowl.

2. Soak 1/4 cup lal (red) chana for 5-6 hour and boil them with 1/2 teaspoon salt in micro-oven for 4-5 mins and keep aside.

3 .Boil 1 medium size potato cut it into 4 pieces and boil them in micro- oven for 8 mins. Remove the skin and cut it in to small pieces and put 1/2 teaspoon chat masala, 2-3 chopped green chili, few chopped coriander leaves, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (upto taste), salt to taste, two teaspoon tamarind water or water of phuchka, boiled red channa (step 2) and mix well.

4. Put the potato mixture ( step 3) into the bowl over the not puff phuchka (step 1) and mix well.
