This post is written by my husband Sudipta.

I normally do not watch Hindi movies in succession. But this time, I made an exception and thought to start watching “Na Ghar ke na ghat ke”. This movie has veteran actors like Om Puri, Paresh Rawal and Nina Gupta. and of course some very new and refreshing faces. The movie started simple and in a narrative fashion but never continued that way. There is nothing special about the plot or the acting or even the locations. Overall this movie looks ordinary and when add silly jokes sometimes it crosses the line of actually wanting to stop watching.

But then there is something in movie, maybe the “over-simplicity”, subtle satire, no-tension plot (so that you can completely relax) and situational humor that you cannot avoid but laugh out loud. Surprisingly I actually watched this movie till the end. The village dialogs and contrast with Mumbai is the basic theme of this movie. The director and lead role actor Rahul Aggarwal played an “indifferent” role of a villager who got married during a company vacation. You like completely hate this movie if you try to find anything special (like twist, action or even a strong plot). But you will totally love the experience of watching this movie if you have come tired from office and just want a background movie with occasional attention.
